The couple - who had a quickie wedding in Las Vegas in February - celebrated their union by inviting nine drag artists to perform a number of classic disco tunes including Gloria Gaynor's 'I Will Survive' and Cyndi Lauper's 'Girls Just Want To Have Fun' on stage at their reception.
Katie had lined up the performers to entertain her, while a martial arts team were signed up to perform for Alex, although the cage-fighter - who is also known to enjoy dressing up in women's clothing - is said to have enjoyed the singers more than the fighters.
A source said: "Alex enjoyed the drag artists more than she did."
When a cage-fighter friend of Alex, 34, tried to get on stage to join in, he was embarrassed by the drag acts.
The insider revealed: "A drag queen threw him off."
The ceremony was not all fun and games, however, with police called to the event following trouble with photographers trying to get pictures of her dress - something which left Katie, 32, "shaken and upset".
A spokesperson said: "She was understandably shaken and upset by the actions of these people."

An early World Cup exit may have plunged Cristiano Ronaldo into an existential crisis, but Portugal's national team captain does have other reasons to smile.
The soccer stud announced today that he recently became the father of a baby boy, born in June to an anonymous American - and he has exclusive custody!
Unfortunately, the mother is not Kim Kardashian.
The news appeared on the website of his employer, Real Madrid, and Ronaldo's Twitter and Facebook pages, and does not appear to be a hoax ... we think.
"It is with great joy and emotion that I inform I have recently become a father to a baby boy," read the statement from Ronaldo, who is 25 and unmarried.
"With the agreement of the mother, who wishes to remain anonymous, I will have exclusive custody of my son," added the world's highest paid soccer star.

Making for quite the unhappy ending to her pre-birthday celebration, more details have emerged surrounding Lindsay Lohan's club punching on Thursday night (July 1).
According to reports, the "Mean Girls" actress was chatting it up with Danny Cipriani at Voyeur in Los Angeles - during which time one of the rugby stud's former flames (who happened to be a club waitress) became overly upset about the situation and took her frustrations out on LiLo.
A TMZ insider tells that the waitress delivering the birthday blow will most likely be fired for her actions, with Voyeur managers having scheduled a meeting to discuss the situation.
