Megan Fox has been officially replaced in the Transformers franchise.

Director Michael Bay introduced newcomer Rosie Huntington-Whiteley yesterday.

The Victoria's Secret model will feature in the upcoming Transformers 3.

'I would like for all you fans to welcome Rosie Huntington-Whiteley to the world of Transformers,' Michael wrote on his website.

'As some of you might know, she's the new female lead in Transformers 3.'

This will be the supermodel's acting debut, although Michael previously directed a Victoria's Secret ad starring Rosie, 23, in 2009.

'Megan Fox left of her own accord,' says her rep.

'She wishes the franchise well.'

Megan, 24, has previously accused Michael, 45, of forcing her to wear revealing outfits and called him 'a nightmare to work for'.

Michael's response was to call Megan 'dumb as a brick' and say that 'she needs to grow up'.
